Please join the GBI for their 2nd Annual Missing Children's Day Awareness Event this Saturday, May 17. The event is co-sponsored by the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce. The day will be marked by providing free identification kits to parents in attendance. These kits, or GACHIP kits, will be provided by volunteers of the Grand Masonic Lodge of Georgia. PARENTS: DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!
The GACHIP "kit" is actually a 10-15 minute process by which parents will receive dental impressions, dna samples, canine scents, a CDROM with identification information including photos and videos of the child. I reviewed the process and the output with a representative of the Lodge and this is the very best resource a parent can get for the protection of their child should they ever become missing.
The day will also be filled with fun activities for the children such as, giant inflatables, Star Wars characters, "Herbie" the Love Bug, and ... wait for it ... the Bat Mobile!
In addition to activities for the children, food will be provided and various Public Safety representatives from the GBI bomb squad, DeKalb and Atlanta Fire and Police will be present. Various non-profits will also be present to provide educational materials. This is a great event and the GACHIP kit is a MUST-HAVE for parents. Here are the details:
