Auto Break-in Across 2051 Fairway Circle

Tom Weber reports that at approximately 4:00am today he heard a car horn sounding. He looked out from his home and saw 2 individuals entering and then leaving the vehicle that was parked on the street across from 2051 Fairway Circle. The 2 individuals were dressed in dark clothing and exhibited a calm and professional manner as they headed away from the crime scene on foot-one of them carrying a large case or duffel bag. They headed up the hill on Fairway Circle towards Brookshire Lane. Apparently, the crooks inadvertently hit the horn while ransacking the auto and that is what awakened Tom. Tom called 911 and unfortunately DKPD wasn't able to respond for 70 minutes.

The reporting officer indicated that there were many traffic problems tying up patrols due to the heavy fog this AM.
Yet Another Auto Break-in

Jonathon Fox shared this with me today via email today:

"My brother's truck was broken into last night......took cd player
and other small stuff....1875 fairway cir"
Full gas cans stolen from pickup truck

I had 5 (5)gallon gas cans stolen from my pickup truck parked in my driveway Monday night or early Tuesday morning.

The thieves left the smaller gas cans that were next to the larger ones. Some may have the word "Mix" on them.
If anyone saw anything suspicious during that time, please let me know.

Walk for Others Fundraiser - A Few More Hours to Make a Difference!

"I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs." - Frederick Douglass

My wife, my 2 year-old son, and I along with our faithful dog used our legs for prayer early this morning. We joined hundreds of others for this year's 26th Annual Wesley Walk for Others. It was a chilly, windy, and damp 6.2 mile sponsored walk around Stone Mountain to raise funds for the Wesley Community Centers, Inc.
My wife refused to give up the stroller for the entire, cold 6.2 miles. Between the boy and his gear, she pushed about 50 pounds around the mountain today for 2 hours and 20 minutes!
Lucky you! It's not too late to contribute! We are not turning in the funds raised until tomorrow morning, Sunday Oct. 26. We've raised $270 so far - that's nearly enough to send 2 under privileged children to a Wesleyan camp. You can contact us by phone (404-325-9025) to make a cash or check contribution. Or you can contribute online with a credit card below (I'll email you a tax receipt for the fully deductible amount!):

Any amount will be a great help to your community and much appreciated by my family!

Are You Ready for Your $1 Billion Vote?

The DeKalb County School System (DCSS) is the 3rd largest in Georgia
and among the top 30 in the United States. It's annual budget is
approaching the $1 billion mark. The decisions made by its
administration and the DeKalb Board of Education (BOE) affect not only
the development of the County's children, it also affects a significant
portion of your home's value and the reputation of DeKalb County in
general. Need I remind you what damage Clayton's BOE has done by
betraying the trust of its community?

As a system with a lot of aging infrastructure, DCSS faces enormous
challenges in the demands of a growing DeKalb population with rapidly changing demographics. With issues
as critical as these at stake, you would think last night's BOE
Candidates' Forum would have been a hard ticket. Instead, no more than
many dozens of persons took advantage of this enlightening event.
